* PRESENTING THE BROADWAY PIXIE JUDY TROUPE *
The Broadway Pixie Judy Troupe has played every top theatre in The United States and in London. The Troupe has performed for the children of two Presidents and was the first family theatre company ever to be invited to perform at The White House. For this engagement they were joined by their treasured board member, and First Lady of the American Theatre, Miss Helen Hayes. Other members of the illustrious board of The Broadway Pixie Judy Troupe have included Liza Minnelli, Chita Rivera, Eartha Kit, Liz Smith, Cy Coleman, Hal Prince, Elaine Stritch, Liz McCann and Liv Ullmann.
The Broadway Pixie Judy Troupe has received 3 Mayoral Citations of Appreciation for its work in introducing thousands of inner city children to the wonder and magic of live musical theatre. This has been achieved through its Showtime Series of special corporately funded performances. While awarding Judith Ann Abrams, the Troupe's producer, with the coveted Jefferson Award, Mrs. Jacqueline Kennedy called her, "A major force in building our audience of the future." The Jefferson Award honors outstanding public service by individuals for "contributing their time, energy and talents to local communities." The Troupe has worked tirelessly with organizations such as The Police Athletic League, Children's Aid Society, New York Cares, Homes for the Homeless and more. "Theatre must be for all zip codes!" states Judith Abrams, a/k/a Pixie Judy. Three of the acclaimed musical productions of The Broadway Pixie Judy Troupe were sponsored and recorded by famed composer Richard Rodgers with The London Symphony Orchestra and produced by Judy for The Rodgers & Hammerstein Music Library and Golden Records. To quote Liz Smith, "The Broadway Pixie Judy Troupe makes it "In" to go out with your kids." |
